Samsung Adding "Virtual Cursor" in One UI for Improved One-Handed Usage

Samsung virtual cursor feat.

When Steve Jobs unveiled the original iPhone back in 2007, he said the following statement while talking about the screen-size, "It has got a iii.5-inch screen on information technology. It's really big!". Now, the boilerplate size of a smartphone screen has gone up to 6-inch. Hell, the screen size of the latest Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is 6.9-inch! And so, with screens this big, the only way an average person can use these smartphones is by using both hands. So, manufacturers have tried to provide software solutions for 1-handed operations. And at present Samsung has added a "virtual cursor" to their One Hand Operations+ module in 1 UI 2.0.

According to a contempo report by XDA Developers, Samsung is rolling out a new update for their 1 Paw Operations+ module that will enable the feature. The One Paw Operations+ module contains a set of tools that helps the users to customise I UI for improved one-hand operations.

Now, a recent update with version number three.2.43 adds the "virtual cursor" feature to I UI devices. The feature essentially brings up a cursor on the upper function of the screen and the user can control the cursor from the bottom one-half of the screen. And so, this helps the users to reach areas of the screen, which conventionally require both hands, using simply 1 hand.

The cursor remains at the top half of the display, while the cursor controller remains at the bottom half, almost the user's fingers. The feature is however in development and might exist a little janky to apply. Even so, it will be a life-saver for Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and Galaxy Note10+ users.

If you want to employ the "virtual cursor" characteristic in your galaxy device, so get the APK for the updated version of the Ane Hand Operations+ module from here.
